After staring blankly at the many tuna options a few days ago, I was surprised at all of the ways tuna companies have dolled up plain 'ole tuna! I chose the StarKist Tuna Creations after studying a zillion labels!
Tuna Creations had "0" carbs, and the salt content was the lowest of any packages I found at 220 mg. Compare this to a regular can of tuna, though, the salt content is the same and the carbs are "0".
I purchased the Lemon Pepper version of Tuna Creations. It is so easy to use - just cut the top off and add to a salad, crackers or whatever you choose. It cost $1.25 (on sale) which seems a little pricey. But for rushing out the door, it is easy to grab and convenient.
If you purchase a $.50 can of tuna and add lemon pepper to it, though, and a little lemon juice, you will have about the same flavor and texture, just not the convenience. And tuna with lemon pepper is...yum!

Recently, my son mentioned that his cholesterol level had gone down 30 points in about 2 months' time. With this kind of result he must have increased his exercise, altered his diet, plus who knows what else. Who'd have guessed the solution was so simple!
It actually involves 1-2 minutes cooking time with Instant Oatmeal! Eating this every morning as he is running to get to work actually is the only change he made in his daily routine.... Go Figure!
Since this conversation, we have stocked up on Quaker Instant Oatmeal and Kroger Instant Oatmeal. We also have some bulk oat bran which we add to our bowl to enhance the medicinal affects.
Look out Docs! A cheaper, simpler solution for fighting cholesterol is here!
Until next time,
