Morningstar Farms Bacon Strips

Bacon has come a long way, hasn't it? It's a food that has taken on more versions than any other food I can think of. There's pork bacon, turkey bacon, soy bacon, Morningstar bacon, a veggie bacon, bacon bits, and more!

My husband was fixing breakfast the other day when I was in another room. The aroma that drifted to me reminded me of waking up to breakfast in a campsite where the bacon and eggs are cooking as campers arise from their sleeping bags in the fresh air in the woods. It was delightful!

Then I saw the package - Morningstar Farms Veggie Breakfast Bacon Strips. It may smell like bacon, but....it didn't look like bacon, and if I closed my eyes, I believe I tasted some bacon. It does have a crunch and it can be microwaved easily. It has 1 gram net carbs which works great for low-carb diets.

It is an OK alternative to the real thing and excellent for certain restrictive diets. But you may have a mutiny if you take it camping!!
